Who we are
This website is operated by the organisers of the Young Entrepreneurs Award 2026 ("YEA 2026", "we", "us"). We are responsible for the personal information collected through it.
What we collect
We only collect information you choose to submit through the forms on this site:
- When you nominate and buy votes: your full name and phone number (unless you choose to stay anonymous), the candidate and number of votes, and the payment receipt you upload. Receipts can contain bank details such as account names and transaction references.
- When you register as a candidate: your full name, business name, phone number, email address, city or state, an optional website or social link, a description of your business and a profile photo.
- When you send an enquiry: your name, email address, optional phone number and payment reference, and your message. Enquiries are emailed to the organisers' inbox and are not stored on this website.
- Technical information: to protect the forms from abuse we process your IP address to limit repeated submissions. It is stored only as a one-way hashed value and is routinely deleted after about a day.
We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking on this website.
Why we use it
- To verify payments and add confirmed votes to the right candidate.
- To contact you if there is a problem with your payment or registration.
- To email approved candidates a welcome message with their nomination link, and the results announcement when the winners are published.
- To review candidate registrations and publish approved candidate profiles.
- To publish vote totals and announce winners.
- To keep the service secure and prevent fraud or spam.
What is made public
For approved candidates we publish the name, business name, city or state, business description, profile photo and confirmed vote totals. Candidate phone numbers and email addresses are never published. Nominator names, phone numbers and receipts are never published; they are visible only to the organisers' admin team.
How it is stored
Information is stored with Supabase (database and file storage) and the website is hosted on Vercel. Enquiries are delivered by email through Resend. Payment receipts are kept in private storage that only signed-in organisers can access. All traffic to the website is encrypted with HTTPS.
We keep information only for as long as it is needed to run the 2026 award, verify payments and answer questions about the results.
Your choices and rights
You can nominate anonymously. You can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it where we do not need to keep it to verify a payment or result. Candidates can ask for their profile to be removed.
Contact the organisers through the contact page.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update this page.
